3rd Party project file support is the type of feature you either don’t care about at all, or it is one that you care quite a lot about. File formats like WIX are open and are therefore relatively low hanging fruit for vendors looking to support other formats. Another that has surfaced is the Wise project file format. Many administrators have used Wise for years and so many have a large catalog of project files in this proprietary format. That can make such a feature an interesting one, but I do recommend trying it first and also considering how much value there is in importing the Wise project files for what is likely to be an old set of applications. As always, consider and prioritize this feature accordingly.
This is one of many application packaging features covered here at AppDetails. When considering what features are important to you, we recommend you also contemplate the importance of a good GUI Editor, PowerShell Support, an MSI to App-V Converter, and other application packaging features.
