64-Bit Packages are another that should go in your list of features that should be expected. Such a capability would probably be unnecessary noise on your priority list of packaging features as any current application should provide this. That said, if you are considering an older product that has not undergone any recent updates or enhancements, you could find this as a good reason to remove it from consideration. All new computers today are 64-bit and are routinely shipped with a 64-bit version of the operating system installed (be it Windows, Mac, etc.).
Your repackaging solution should be capable not just of a supporting 64-bit packages, but should be able to create a unified installer that can run as 32-bit on 32-bit and as 64-bit on 64-bit platforms.
This is one of many application packaging features covered here at AppDetails. When considering what features are important to you, we recommend you also contemplate the importance of a good GUI Editor, PowerShell Support, an MSI to App-V Converter, and other application packaging features.
