You can run into trouble if you try to include files larger than 2GB in your Windows Installer package. Some vendors have found ways around this by breaking up large files and injecting their own compression technologies. While it is not common to have files with very large files in them, it can become an issue– particularly for applications that are distributed with very large data files. While you may do well to simply store such data files on a network share instead of distributing them to all endpoints, your requirements may force you to do so. I recommend confirming your vendor of choice provides a method, process or some sort of guidance on how to deal with very large files.
